Join Rachel Gittleman Financial Services Outreach Manager with the Consumer Federation of America (CFA) to learn about emerging FinTech consumer loan products, especially Buy Now, Pay Later, earned wage access, and other consumer loan offerings. She will discuss possible consumer benefits and risks, and how to incorporate this information into your work.

Public Service Loan Forgiveness (4:00 - 5:00 PM)

If you have federal student loans and work in the public or non-profit sectors, recent updates to the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program may help you get your loans forgiven more quickly. Through the PSLF Limited Waiver, the Department of Education has temporarily expanded eligibility to thousands of federal student loan borrowers who were previously denied access to loan forgiveness through the PSLF Program.

Join Dr. Tisa Silver Canady, founder and director of the Maryland Center for Collegiate Financial Wellness, for an overview of PSLF, details of the temporary expansion, and next steps federal student loan borrowers who work in public service should take to make certain they do not miss out on this limited-time opportunity.
